I just love ELP! Imagine Keith Emerson strapped to the bench of a baby grand piano, playing his best performance ever, while the piano and bench is raised into the air and begins to rotate upside down and back again while Keith continues playing without missing a note! Flying Pianos! Totally Awesome!!!!

Over the years, I have collected all of the ELP albums, both on tape and on CD's. My favorite is still a double album titled "Welcome Back My Friends, To The Show That Never Ends". My favorite ELP track of all is on this album. Simply titled, "Piano Improvisations". For me, it is the ultimate showcase of Keith's true talent and showmanship. As you listen, you begin to hear riffs and measures of many of ELP's best published works. It's as if this song is the real source of everything ELP. I listen to it so much, that I know every note by heart. I wish I could play like that!

But it's not all about Keith. It just wouldn't have worked without Carl Palmer and Greg Lake. It's all about the show and the unique talent that each brings to the stage. Any fan can tell you, ELP is one the most innovative group of musicians that ever existed. They started with the concept that they would be years ahead of their time, they WERE years ahead of their time, and they were an instant success. Their music style is still as fresh and unique today as it was in 1970.

Eventually, the band had to split up over creative differences. While I am disappointed as a fan, you expect that sort of thing when you have three such talented individuals. Nothing lasts forever, and although "the show that never ends" has finally ended after all, their music legacy lives on. This web page is for new fans and those interested in re-living the experience on compact disc.
